As you can probably guess by my handle I'm an Isles fan although I grew up in California so I began following the Sharks since their inception 20 years ago.
Sadly since I'm 35 I started collecting in what I like to call the dead card era so I've got piles of worthless card board from the mid 80s to early nineties.
The last craze I got swept up into was the first year of French Upper Deck hockey. If only those crazy prices had lasted:)
Hobby has certainly changed and for the better as the cards now are amazing in their design.
I've mostly been dabbling in hockey and I was so clueless when I first started again after 20 years that I didn't even know the Eberle Freshman Fabric Auto card was worth anything when it ploped out of a pack of certified.
So far for hockey I've bought 7 boxes of 2010-2011 artifacts 4 boxes of 2011 certified 2 boxes of 2010-2011 series 1 UD 1 box of 2009-2010 SP 2008-2009 UD Ice
for baseball 1 topps chrome box
for football one box of absolute longevity.
Love the new cards and I'm enjoying reading about how the hobby has transformed itself.

Welcome to SCF Raphael.
I also started collecting in the "dead card era" in '92. Bought everything I could at garage sales and the like, needless to say I have a boatload of worthless '80's-90's baseball cards. It was also a lot funner back then, but it was much cheaper and everything is funner when you're a kid anyway.
We are happy to have you here at SCF and if you have any questions about the site please feel free to drop me a PM or any of the other New Member staff. We'll be happy to help you out.
