Question about trade value
So im new to the site, and I have a question. When making trades here, what is the preffered way of determining value on cards? Is it just beckett value or is there another way? Just want to make sure im doing things the right way. Thanks alot

Hey, welcome to SCF! It really depends from trader to trader. Some like to trade by Beckett pricing guide, while others (like myself) prefer to trade by recent Ebay sales and sales by other members. But i would say a majority trade by Beckett values, so its safer to start out by trading that way :)

I go by a hybrid model. I would NEVER trade a card for e-Bay value only, as some good stuff people need might only go for $0.99. I also do not want to go entirely book value, as that can occasionally be outrageously high. I communicate with the trader, send an offer and see how it goes.

yeah no way I trade via ebay value
it's too inconsistent... beckett has a few dumb prices but they are the standard, and it is beckett, so don't know why so many go against the grain
beckett does have a high to low value, I think people ignore this a lot lol
if it's 6-15, and you don't wanna give up 15 in value in a trade, then maybe five up 10-12...
it's 6-15, not just 15

Personally, while I familiarize myself with recent eBay sales as well as Beckett values, if I'm getting a card that I want and I think it's fair and I'm not getting "ripped off" then I do it.
For example, if you're trading a Patrick Kane GU /150 for a Martin St. Louis GU /100...do the values really even matter. No.
