But frizzle, I didn't know they came in other colors unless there was a blood stain. It's just tape.

That would have been cool, the few I've seen have been all white.

I think that after the wrists are taped a state athletic official signs the tape to ensure that the gloves are not changed. That is where the writing on the tape comes from.
