haha, come on man, like we aren't the same way. You see how many Repubs get defensive on here too? Especially when people bring up Bush? The problem is more people like yourself are more devoted to which party they blindly support with over which person has the best ideasLast edited by duwal; 12-22-2010 at 05:40 PM.

You don't drink the government's Kool-Aid unless Republicans control the government, you mean. Let's not forget that when He Who Must Not Be Named was in office, cons were proclaiming that questioning the federal government was treachery and terrorism and should be punished by imprisonment, extradition or execution. But you know, I haven't heard that since January before last. How unusual. And while we're on the topic of Kool-Aid, you drink the church's Kool-Aid all the time.
I'm afraid of fascism. I'm afraid of theocracy. No real American will abide this. We want separation of church and state, not subsumation by church of state.

Because you so proudly proclaim your "God-fearing-ness" and you want to institute a theocracy, that's where. And I have no idea what church you attend, being a lowly mortal as I am. But if I had to guess, I'd say either Southern Baptist or Pentecostal.

LOL. Just because I post some icon that I found on the internet does not automatically qualify me as a Bible-thumper. But thanks for generalizing (and for letting me know that you are so bothered by such a small thing). I am just logical enough to not entirely discount the beliefs of others simply because I have an infectious hate for religion that is so overwhelming that it blurs my vision of reality and reduces my capacity to treat others with an opinion that differs from mine with any measure of decency.
For the record, I am agnostic.

Saw that one. It has already been seriously questioned because it lacks the registrar's seal and the seal of the state of Hawaii.
Here is an image of an authentic Hawaii birth certificate. Notice the state seal stamped in the lower middle and the registrar stamp along the bottom left. Also notice that the border is black all the way around and in the Obama version it is not.

What! According to popular stereotype, all cons must be religious fanatics who want to institute theocracies!
Seriously, though, I'm all for people who go against the grain on either side - it's all too easy to fall into the trap of proclaiming Democrats as Socialists and Republicans as Theocrats, and so I see it too often. People have all kinds of reasons for affiliating with the parties they do whether people like it or want to acknowledge it or not, and they aren't as simplistic as each side would like to believe for the ease of their own convictions.

One can rarely afford to offer decency to the enemy. Especially to an enemy who offers no decency in return.

And when both sides apply that thick-headed mentality then no decency is ever achieved.
To quote Max Dupree, we can not become who we need to be by remaining what we are.
