    Jamal Mayers = Class Act

I took my six year old son to the Buffalo/Sharks game yesterday. He is a big Sharks fan and wore his SJ jersey. We were watching the players warm up and I noticed Mayers staring into the crowd. I realized he was looking at my son, trying to get his attention. I tapped my son on the shoulder and pointed to Mayers. Mayers nodded at him and flipped a puck over the glass for him. That absolutely made my son's night! What a classy thing to do.

I was at a game in Buffalo last year and Patrick Lalime was getting a kids attention at the glass and took off his blocker and put his hand through the camera hole in the glass and handed the kid a puck. Very classy move.

This is actually the second "Coca-Cola Commercial" moment my son has had at the arena. About a month ago, he I signed him up for a skating skills clinic at the arena. The Sabres were on the ice practicing while the kids were in the locker rooms getting ready. They let the kids stand in front of the Sabres locker room and shake the players hands as they left the ice. Paul Gaustad noticed my son didn't have a stick (we had left it in the locker room). Gaustad told him he couldn't play without a stick, and handed his over.
