COMC review?
Hey
The fees are very confusing. Generally speaking, how much do they take out of sellers fees?
Anyone got a review of the site?

They don't take anything out of seller fees.
They just charge you per card when you first send to them. Then a fee if you have cards for sale longer than a month, like 1 cent per card a month.

The only confusing thing is that on their main Fees explanation page, they don't separate sellers/submission fees from buyers fees.
All of the shipping fees listed are only for buyers having cards shipped to from the site (you bought a bunch of cards, and you want them sent to you).
As a seller, you pay a $3 fee per batch of up to 500 cards, and a minimum of $0.15 per card for 8 week processing (within 8 weeks, your cards are processed and made available in your inventory). There are higher fees for faster service and fees for oversized or graded/encapsulated cards or cards in anything more rigid than a penny sleeve. After 90 days, there is also a $0.01 storage charge per card for the original submitter. So on your submissions, the first 90 days storage fees are waived. Last month (November), I paid a whole $1.22 in storage fees.
Should you want to cash out your store credit, it's a flat 20% fee for amounts over $25. Lots of people (those who are more collectors than dealers) just never cash out, and use their credit to buy more cards.
And some people have done well just buying cards on the site they feel are underpriced, and re-listing them for higher prices and making a profit, without ever actually having to send in a card.
In the last two years, I've sold 182 cards and made around $320, all of which I've used to either buy more cards, or fund more inventory submissions. I started out buying $20 in credit just so I could make offers on a few cards I wanted (and that $20 came from sales at Sportlots, so I wasn't exactly out of pocket anything). I later bought another $20 in store credit to cover my first submission. While I've never cashed out, with the cards I've sold, I feel I've more than made my money back on the great deals I've gotten on the cards I've purchased for my player collections.
Their fees are a small price to pay for their great service and not having to deal directly with buyers or shipping individual cards myself. I still list thousands of cards on Sportlots, but mostly just stuff not worth paying the storage and submission fees for at COMC (surprisingly, some people DO pay $0.15ea to submit commons to COMC).

At first, I wasen't sure about COMC but since I've sent my first batch I am more than happy.
I move cards that were sleeping in my bins for months and the cost was so ridiculous that I forgot about it.
The process is long (2 months) but seriously, these cards were not moving anyway, might as well get them out there.
From my first batch I've sold for over 150$ of cards (for less than 15$ in fees). All in all, I made my money back in instant.
As for getting your cards back, it's surpringly cheap. When you put it in perspective, it is not more expansive than Ebay and it takes like a week to get your cards.
Seriously, the guys at COMC are offering a super great alternatives for card buying and selling and the High Def Scan are a BIG + in selling.
You should try it, I'm getting my second batch there anyday now.
