Kendall Marshall now a Phx Sun! Which Rookie U looking forward to following?

The Suns took a big step forward tonight by drafting Kendall Marshall the best PG in the 2012 draft. This must mean Nash is most likely out and the Suns are looking to get younger and more exciting.

I think Marshall will be a great replacement for Nash and can fit in well with the system here. Roy Williams said he is the best point he has coached and that means alot coming from a guy like him.

Can't wait for the new cards to come out so I can start collecting Marshall's Rc AUTOs!

Which Rookies are U guys interested in following / collecting this year???

I'm excited to follow Perry Jones III, who the Thunder stole with the 28th pick. Selecting a power forward to back up Ibaka (Collison isn't getting the job done), gives OKC a stable forward to work with James Harden off the bench.

Yeah...that was a steal for a team like OKC. They are going to be a lot stronger next season. Also, I want to follow on Rivers. I think that he is going to be an awesome player.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing Hornets games now. Should be fun to watch with Davis, Rivers, and Eric Gordon.

As a suns fan I hope Kendall Marshall turns out really well and is given a chance to be mentored by Nash who I want to see stay instead of leave. Also I want to see how Anthony Davis turns out with all the hype that was created. Will he be a KG or a Tim Duncan player but either way he will do great things with the talent drafted with him and Eric Gordon for the Hornets.

    Lol

You forgot to put every once in a while next to Eric Gordon's name. Should read Davis, Rivers and, every once in a while, Eric Gordon.

This years draft had so much talent and so many guys who were drafted later in the 1st and in the 2nd round still have the capabilities to greatly impact a team!

Harrison Barnes with Curry, D. Lee, and K. Thompson could be a force. The Warriors had perhaps one of the best drafts IMO getting a beast PF in Draymond Green and Festus Ezeli a center that should have gone higher in the 1st round.
Those 3 kids in the bay will be interesting to watch.

Jay520 - U dont think this draft is a precursor of things to come in PHX and shows that Nash is out?
I love Nash and have since he came back to PHX (when he was 1st drafted I hated him!) but feel it is time for change and in the NBA athleticism is the key commodity.
Nash deserves a ring or at least a chance to end his career in his home country with Toronto.

Was hoping Rivers would have slid down to the 13th pick for the Suns to grab but the Hornets obviously know what they are doing and are going to be the next OKC Thunder type team. I am certainly following Rivers also.

PJIII Im honestly not sold on, was so glad the Suns passed on him at the 13th pick because he was on their draft board. Jones may be a decent back up PF in the NBA but the Suns have too many players at that position on the bench wasting space.
Im thinking the Thunder are going to deal PJIII with Harden and somebody else to get a long term upgrade at the SG position.
Nick Collison had a beastly NBA Finals and postseason I would take him over PJIII anyday LOL

Other players I really like this year that are under the radar:

Jeremy Lamb - good fit in Houston where they need scoring and an athletic SG

Damian Lilliard - May step in and be the starting PG in Portland, lets see how he handles real competition after never facing a top 25 team in his NCAA career

Bradley Beal - 3rd pick not really under the radar but I think he could have gone 1 or 2 just as easy. The kid just turned 19! He looks way more skilled then almost anybody in the draft I saw during combines etc. Im certainly watching / collecting him also!

    Good stuff guys!
