Is Jimmie really a 5x champ

In my opinion no, he's a champ @ the least, is he the greatest ever no. in fact HELL NO.... when u look @ it, the chase is jimmie's savior, he does just good to get in then does very well in the last 10 races, to me u need to be great all 36 not 10 races to win a championship. drivers like gordon, petty, earnhardt did it the hard way. they r light years ahead of jimmie for being the greatest. i want to know what every1 thinks about this.

First off, anyone who doesn't think Jimmie is one of the top-5 greatest drivers of all time is delusional. He races the season in order to get ready for the Chase. If the old points system was still in place, he'd race differently, and he'd still have a bunch of Championships. If it's as easy as "just doing enough to get into the Chase and then turning it on", why can't anyone else do what the 48 does? Even when Hendrick had a down year and less speed than the competition, they STILL won a title this year.

You want to discredit him because of the system? Really? Because a certain other 4-time Champ has already said winning a Chase title is much harder than winning a regular title ever was because you have to be virtually PERFECT in those final ten races.

After five straight titles, anyone who still doesn't give him credit simply doesn't have a grasp on what "GREATNESS" truly is.

What is the criteria you're going to use to determine the best driver of all time. You have to have facts to base your opinion on.

look @ petty, earnhardt, gordon won a bunch of races and were points leaders for majority of the season. what i dont like about jimmies is he wins but he not the points leader b4 the chase starts, like this year, i think he was lkike 7 or 8 and denny back there to and b/c the won blank amount of racers r now the leaders??? the chase kills nascar they need to fix it badly.

dont get me wrong what jimmie has down is awesome and he is in the top 5... but winning 5 in a row in the chase there will always b an * next to them. if he did this the old way, i would litteraly kiss the ground he walked on.

There's no asterisk because of the Chase. If that were the case, then I guess every champ from 2004 until the end of time isn't an actual champ.

Even if he never led the points (which he did, BTW), what relevance does that have? He doesn't go 100% during the regular season because he doesn't have to. He races the system put in front of him. How does that make him any less of a champion? It doesn't. He's won 53 races in 9 years...no one else is even close.

heres what im trying to say. jimmie didnt win the championship this year he won the chase what comes with that is the champioship. harvick won the season this year but didnt win the chase so he's not champion. the chase format is not right.
