Changes to the High End Trading Forums
SCF is happy to announce changes to the High End Forums that are coming in 2011!
Beginning on January 1st, you will see major changes to the High End Trading Forums in the four sports that have these forums in place: Baseball, Basketball, Football, and Hockey.
After much work, discussion, and feedback, for the first time SCF will have uniform standards across all four sports for what constitutes a high-end card. These standards are intended to make the High End Trading Forums as inclusive as possible to grow SCF member participation in these forums. We have devised four criteria for determining high-end cards, which will be applicable to all cards across the four sports. Cards that meet one or more of these criteria are eligible to be posted in the High End Trading Forums:
1. A card with a Beckett HI value of at least $100.
2. A card with an average Sale Value of at least $50.
3. A card that is Not Priced Due to Scarcity (NPDTS) due to a print run of 10 or less.
4. A card from a high-end product that is NPDTS due to a print run of 19 or less.
High-end products are defined as follows:
Baseball: Topps Sterling, UD Exquisite, Topps Triple Threads, UD Ultimate Collection
Basketball: National Treasures, Court Kings, Timeless Treasures, Black, UD Exquisite, UD Premier
Football: National Treasures, Exquisite, Ultimate Collection
Hockey: The Cup, Ultimate Collection, Black, ITG Ultimate Memorabilia, ITG Superlative, Panini Limited
As new product lines are created by the manufacturers, sets in this echelon will be added to the list. This list is not exhaustive, but gives you an idea of what type of price point the bar is set at for a high-end release.
In addition to these criteria, there are some specific rules that will be enforced to ensure the ongoing integrity of the High End Trading Forums:
1. They are the High End TRADING Forums. Please do not post cards that are For Sale only or that you are only looking to Buy in this Forum. Please make such posts in the appropriate sport Buying/Selling Forum. You may list that your cards are for trade as well as for sale, or that you are looking to trade or buy for your wanted cards, but members should PM each other with asking prices and leave the main focus of responses to trade discussions.
2. High end cards listed in the Forum must have supporting evidence that they meet one of the criteria above, be it posting the BV or an average SV or NPDTS. They must have an accompanying photo posted with them, or at least a link to your High End section of your Photobucket or other resource. No general links to your entire Photobucket will be permitted; if members want to see your low end cards, they can still view that link in your signature. Provide as much detail as you can about the card; i.e. FT: 1986-87 O-Pee-Chee Patrick Roy RC BV $150
3. Want list threads must be posted in the same format as cards for trade. Every card on the list must be a high end card and specifics must be provided. You cannot be vague and post a thread stating only “WTTF High End Derek Jeter” and not provide a list of certain high end Derek Jeter cards in the topic itself.
4. Multi-sport high end trade lists are not permitted. Each Forum is for cards of the respective sport only. You may post that you are looking for other sports in return, but please take into consideration that many collectors are only looking for cards from a single sport when they use this Forum.
These criteria and rules will be posted as a Sticky Thread in each of the four sport’s High End Trading Forum, along with some general site rules and guidelines.
To give the High End Trading Forums a fresh start, all current threads will be archived on January 1st so that new threads which comply with the criteria and rules can be posted. We do realize that this will mean some of you will have to go to considerable lengths to start anew with your high-end trading threads, and we do apologize for any inconvenience.
SCF is committed to growing the participation in all areas of the site that involve trading, and we hope that you will join us in checking out the new High End Trading Forums in 2011!
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...
