Well first off, for those of you that are members here wondering what this is meant as - about a month ago, the servers at Spawn.com started going all stupid and all of us there were left in limbo for days at a time. Many people with trades pending or being negotiated were stuck often without a means of communicating with your trade partner. Lots of boardies there that frequent the boards on the weekends to keep up with the chatter and shop the members 's BST lists could not. Commonly this has been happening mostly on the weekends, but now the problem is plaging the weekdays now too. Even just prior to me starting this thread, I just went to open up my Spawn page and it is down - the soup du jour there these days.

I opened a thread there to list alternative sites for boardies there to meet up at and not lose touch for whatever the reason. I actually discovered this site maybe 2 years ago now but only joined now to basically have a 2nd home and invite peeps from there to consider doing the same. For the same reasons - I wasn't trying to incite an exodus at all. However, so far I have found this site to be exceptional in all ways - I can see that it is extremely well run, organized, helpful and courteous, and not to mention accountable. I see a few safeguards in place to encourage confidence in the noob population to get involved in BST's. Also, since a lot of Spawn boardies are into cards as well, this may be the most suitable destination for migration.

I'm happy to be here. From what I have read up on so far, there seems to be a lot of great people here enjoying the forums and running the place. I got 2 welcome emails in just a few days, which is cool and I appreciate the contacts. Already I know there are at least 2 guys from Spawn here, one having joined before me and one after.

Ultimately I think that a bunch of boardies there will like to find out about this place and hopefully enjoy it for what it seems to really be - a community of good, upstanding collectors that have a heart for the hobby and no malice.

So you Spawn.com boardies, if you decide to join up here, lets use this thread as a means by which to indicate your presence by posting your Spawn handle, and whatever else you may want to advertise - your real name, who you may be trying to find here from there, and whatever else I guess.

Oh PS, bigpoppad is my Spawn handle as well, as I'm sure anyone from there will recognize. I'm Dave, and in truth I have nothing pending or in pursuit right now over there. I'll be posting my list of haves, or what they call 'My Bucket' over here, very shortly.

Hi guys! I've been doing a lot of card collecting lately so I've eased off the SP's. Good to see some guys here. Same name here as Spawn.com.

There's a sport card thread on Spawn too. But it does suck that the boards have been crashing like crazy.

Welcome Spawn discards .... I too love the Spawn boards and the peeps there, but they have got to do something with that wild hair server over there. Lots of good peeps here at SCF as well .... and I am who I say I am .....
