Another New Guy
Hello All,
My card collecting experinces comes from my childhood. I haven't been doing any collecting for at least the last 10 years. Now the card industry seems a little complex with all the different types of cards and various types of inserts. I'm hoping that this forum will help demystify this for me.
Recently my wife has been on my to get rid of my collection that I've had since I was a kid. My collection has cards that date back to '81 and end around 2000. I called some local shops and none of them are intersted I was told that cards from those years were "mass printed" and therefore not really valuable. If anyone is interested let me know. I'd let it go for cheap, I'm just looking to start over and collect for investment.

Thanks for the Welcome messages. I was hoping this would be an active forum and it looks like it is.
My main hobby is '70 Mustang Convertible, and I'm a member of another forum Mustangs and it's really active. I was hoping this one would be the same. So far so good.
I just have to work on getting myself familiar with the site. I read the post that provided some information to first-time card collectors, but what I really want to know is with all of the different types of cards out there what are the best to collect, is there a specific brand that is better than the other? Is it best to only collect RCs and inserts?
Back when I was collecting as a kid UD was the best, shows how long ago that was. And you collected any card of a named player. But it appears all of that has changed over the years.
