My Favorite Memory of Daytona is not the racing but what happened after the race was over..It still brings a tear to my eye . To the younger guys that are fans of racing ,and might not know who Dale was the reception line should tell you all you need to know about him ....

interesting that that is everyones favorite memory-I hated that race LOL-could not stand Earnhardt and the race was kinda dull-but I guess it was good he won it looking back on it-just not my favorite memory of the 500

favorite Daytona 500's for me-1997, 2001 (the race was one of the best in history-its a shame everyone remembers it now only for Dales death), 2002, 2007, 2010.

I have to agree with ya' on 2001 daytona being the best ever , The whole race played out like a movie , Who can forget Tony landing on Bobby and the big one ..Followed by the Biggest lost in the sports history .. Wish I could find a tape of the race ..
