    I was more thinking of an 8 year old kid who sees it at a show. A few years back, with the popularity of Crosby driving up the prices, there were alot of people buying and selling for $$ that barely knew any hockey players or card sets. Its always buyer beware, but I know a couple people who thought they hit the lotto with those Ultimate base cards with MFG patches in them.

    I see your concern but anyone who is a collector and research's will know that, it is only a base card that was altered and not an official release of a patch card.

    I totally agree with you on that, a lot of people have been duped into cards that aren't worth anything. I just don't see any problem with what this guy is doing. If he can take a base card and make a buck or two then great for him.
