I'd never send my cards to someone else I have never met to sell for me. If I was going to do that I'd take them to my local dealer who is a certified Ebay seller to put them up. A site like COMC could vanish without warning and then good luck getting your stuff back

Just looking at their shipping fees. $7.50 to ship a single card via priority mail? If an Ebay seller was gouging shipping and handling fees that much they'd be silly star dinged off the site in a week!
I assume this outfit uses something like stamps.com. You can get priority mail with tracking in a flat rate envelope for under $5.
Do they put tracking on all of their packages?

I love the line at the bottom
"These low fees are made possible by patent-pending technology."

And what do you do when your local dealer closes his doors? I don't have anybody nearby who will eBay items at less than 30-40% of an item's value so for me the site seems to be the best way to move my singles

Yes, they do include tracking/delivery confirmation on all of their shipments and they do use Stamps.com. Don't forget $7.50 is shipping AND handling. They have paid employees that manage the inventory and have to go pull the cards (think the Amazon.com distribution center on a smaller scale) and package them. They're not just some shop owner or collector who basically does all the labor for free.

The bigger question is why bother getting a single cards shipped priority when regular mail will get it to you in 3-4 days anyway?

Generally speaking, most people wait to ship until they have a huge shipment of cards in their port. Some Ebay sellers have 3 dollars shipping then 50 cents additional cards. If you buy 20 cards from one seller on Ebay it'll be a whole lot more than at COMC. Plus, there is a much larger selection on COMC then anyone on Ebay so you do not have to deal with all the nonsense from going to seller to seller.

To answer the first question I know my local dealer, where he lives, belong to the same softball league etc. If (and it would never happen) he was to close his doors and attempt to steal my cards my likelyhood of finding him and the ability to sue for damages to recover my goods would be much greater than trying to do so with an online entity on the west coast. I am by no means accusing the people who run COMC of being anything but honest. However in this world you can't be too careful.
I understand the plus of this. You do basically no work and wait for the cash to come in. I am just (at least as of now ) not convinced that I should send hundreds of my cards to another party 2500 miles away to sell for me.
My favorite dealer sells on Beckett. I know their fees are higher and they have to do all of the work and handle their own inventory but I know they know where their stuff is. I stopped selling on Ebay after their policies became seller unfriendly and have been researching other avenues. I am still waiting for the stores here to go live :)

Ok you can get shipping from COMC in bulk rate for much cheaper than anyone on ebay.
I have sent in almost 2000 cards and have sold close to 800 since April of last yr. I didn't send in 2000 all at once either i started off with 200 cards and went up from there . the last order was 500 and the next will be 500 next month. I have made over 2500.00 in sales so far on cards i would have never sold in my card shop or ebay for the amount i have sold these for. Can you tell me your card shop will get you more money or get you the price you want? I'm going to go with no since he only want to make his money. Also any company could close there doors I don't see it happening to COMC anytime soon since it seems pretty stable and getting bigger. I would say a card shop has a better chance of closing right now. Now downing a site because your skeptical just shows your sitting in the 90's . Time to try 2011 . Why not try to buy some cards on COMC to flip and see how easy it is? whats it going to hurt buy stuff you like and that way you can always have it shipped if wanted.

Man some of these people sound like my Grandpa! Boy, im not goin on that "Internet thing" theres nothin but crookes and criminals on there!

LOL, needless to say im done defending Comc, ive been using them for well over a year, with no complaints what so ever! Over 4k in sales!! others have been using them alot longer! and selling alot more than i am! Trust me if your still on the fence at this point, ill leave it at this... Youve been missing out for quite some time now!

and if your that ignorant, or just cant read for yourself comc is an accredited Business by the BBB. They dont just give that stuff away! Not to mention theres guys on that site who have single cards on there worth more than some of our entire collections. So obviously its ok for them? So while your thinkin oh they could lock the doors and turn out the lites and we'd be screwed... thats one of the dumbest things ive ever heard! In fact maybe the dumbest!!

also do some work before you come up in here blabbin useless numbers! you could read any number of the pages prior to this and get perfect examples of how comc is head and shoulders above any of the competition! Not to mention the owner of the site works with the people, when it comes to rules changing, submissions, etc... how often does that happen??
