A funny ebay situation.. wwyd?
Here's the little backstory..
I placed a high end card on ebay this week. After seeing a similar auction end, I knew around what I'd be getting for the card with this auction. Because of the nature of high end cards, and the popularity of Crosby, I decided to bypass the BIN/BO option, because I would most likely be getting a slew of low offers, which becomes time consuming to have to reply to when all I'd really be satisfied with is the end of auction price.
I get a message from an ebay member (could be a member here, so won't give usernames) asking me if the card is mint, what express shipping times to US are, and if I'd take *low offer* for the card.
I kindly wrote back that yes it was NM/Mint, that normally CAN-US express is a 1-2 business day thing, and that no, i would only take *high outside selling price* if it was not on auction.
He replies back with "no, that is too high. I'll give you *$10 less than price the similar auction went for*"
I replied back with something along the lines of, no, sorry I'm not looking to barter with you, I would only take *high outside price* if it wasnt an auction.
Finally, he comes back with "you can keep the card and your ATTITUDE, not that special a card anyway"
So basically what I'm asking of you guys is, was I in the wrong here? I placed an auction on an auction site, WITHOUT a BIN/BO option, to avoid the above situation x20, and I get told I have attitude because I don't want to sell this guy a card outside of my auction. Does this happen to you guys alot, and should I maybe have taken a different approach to all of this? The last thing I want is to have people avoiding my auctions because they think I'm a rude person. This guy obviously though was a bit of a weener, offering me a big enough amount of money for a card then saying "well its not that special anyway" lol

The only thing you did wrong was respond to the offer. ;) You didn't put it in the BIN/OBO format and therefore shouldn't respond to offers. Especially low-ball ones.

You did nothing wrong. The guy probably just messaged you that out of frustration. He probably actually really wants the card and didnt want to have to go to auction because he knows it will sell higher then the price he offered. Just ignore him and move on. Lots of other buyers out there

He was the rude one! I get it all the time. I say no to low offers, the person insults me by calling me rude, or any other names, I block them, they complain when they try to bid. I laugh. HAHAHAHAHA

You didn't do anything wrong, its your card and you can ask for as much or as little as you want. He obviously thought it was special enough to send you a message. Just block him and forget him.
