Topps Magic is back with one huge change, players are showcased in their professional uniforms. Huge plus! The 250-card base set intermingles rookies with veterans and retired players to amass a nice collection of players. Instead of a photo, each player is represented as a painting on the cards. The paintings are not from standard poses but from actual games (minus the rookies for the most part) and that adds life to the cards. There are mini variations for each card, which harkens back to the actually Magic cards of yesteryear.
Three insert sets are featured in Magic. History's Best looks back at some of the best at their position from today's stars. Magical Moments centers around statistical achievements during the 2009 season. Finally, Rookie Stars features the rookies in the 2010 class that look to be prime to make an impact for years to come.
All in all, Topps Magic is better in it's second year than its inaugural year. With the players displayed in pro uniforms, it makes them more collectible and sought after than when they were seen in basic colors of their respective college. These cards are also great for those seeking in-person our through the mail autographs. Each pack has a bonus card of some kind and that is always a plus. Card collectors will get a lot of entertainment in opening box after box and won't mind shelling out the money to do so. A couple of minor issues deal with the autographs. First, the big black border box on the card is detracting. There's got to be a better way to disguise a sticker was used for the auto. Seems a lot like an auto dump considering the amount of players with an auto. And that's the other issues, the lineup of signers. While each player is integral to their team, there's a good assortment of signees that collectors could and would probably do without.
Once again, I'd like to thank our wonderful sponsors at Topps for giving us the opportunity to open and review this release. For more information on all their products, you can check them out at www.topps.com.Last edited by Enigma; 01-07-2011 at 03:14 PM.

Very fun product and some good boxes i got a sp auto a chrome /10 auto in my last box then in a few packs from lcs pulled another auto and a stamp card..seems that the boxes with stamps and jerseys contain 4 hits which is a nice bonus.. As when i got the stamp i had seen 3 autos pulled from that box and on your break seems the same as you got a jersey and 3 autos.. The jerseys and stamps are very low printed which is going make them quite valuable imo
