Nathan Lawson Stinks!
Nathan Lawson Stinks! A few weeks ago in his 1st game I think he choked. with like 1 minute and 30 seconds to go in the game he gave up the tying goal. Then they went to the shoot out. He stunk, he gave up all 3 goals. Last night he faced 3 shots, he let in 2 goals. He got pulled very early in the 1st period. I just don't think he's that good.
Was the Roloson trade the right move? We have to wait to see how well Whisthart will play. Depietro went down, and is day to day with injury. Now who do the Islanders have to turn to? The backup goalie Kevin Poulin played very well. Who will get the nod for Saturday, and Sunday games?

I was very surprised to see that Roloson was traded. Did he ask to be dealt? I would think that a guy in his position would realize that at any moment he could be thrust into the #1 role because DiPietro is made of glass. Was it a matter of playing time or just wanting to be somewhere else?
In any event, they are in a major quandry on Long Island.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I don't think the Isles were concerned about wins when they traded Roloson. Based on his history - there is no way they expect DiPietro to stay healthy the rest of the season.
My guess - they go with a mix of Lawson & Poulin..... or anyone else they have in the minors..... until DiPietro is healthy.
They're locking up another top 3 pick in the draft.

Just disgusting, team just starts to play decent and what does management do....... coaching staff must be like ™™™ is going on here. Hired into a miserable situation (no Okposo, no Striet and no heart on the team) then turn them around to a 7-1-1 streak only to trade away the only security they have in net, and also one which forces DiPietro to perform or be sat.
If Tavares ever leaves, after 35 years supporting Long Island, I am going with him.
And oh by the way congrats to Roloson on his shutout this week, YOU SUCK GARTH SNOW.Last edited by DeanCrandall; 01-07-2011 at 03:36 PM. Reason: more

Anyone who thinks the Isles goalie of the future is Nathan Lawson isn't watching the games. It was going to be 3 years before the Isles contend and Roloson isn't going to be around then. They got a good young defenseman, what is your problem with that move?

He played pretty dam good vs the Flames on Monday when he came in the game cold. I do not remember anyone saying he was their goalie of the future. He is what he is, a career AHL'er. Poulin, Koskinen and Nilsson and the future for them in net. Let them trade all the older players who will not be here ina few years anyway. Hunter, Martinek and Weight if either ever stays healthy can go also. I do not think Snow has done a bad job at all with the hand he has been delt. Would it have been nice to see them contend for the playoffs, yes. Since they are not, get more picks and prospects. They play hard and are getting better, the future is brighter they some of you think.
