Stamped autographs
Quick question. I've heard that some people stamp their autographs. I feel pretty comfortable spotting an autopen, but what should I look for with stamped autographs?
I got back 2 autos from Stephen Jackson today. I've heard he stamps some things, but signs some as well. The two autographs are different from each other. I would assume a stamp would be identical?
Thanks in advanceLast edited by gysot; 03-06-2011 at 08:33 PM.

i dunno man look at both very carefully on a really blown up image- the loop at the left-most edge of the S is the same, the way the T crosses into the loop of the S is the same, the distance between the N and the J is the same, the starting and ending point of the signature is the same. If you want I can circle on your scans the things that I mean. I can continue, but suffice it to say that there's no way you can sign that close twice to the point where the pen or sharpie doesn't cross letters differently in each.
I hate to be a buzzkill, but both are stamped.

I've gotten several obvious stamps back..Jay Cutler and Jack Del Rio both use stamps instead of signing...Cutler, I get..but Del Rio was just an average linebacker and is just an average coach..can't imagine he's innundated with requests.

Those are stamped.
They're pretty easy to spot, they generally looked like they were signed with a washed out Sharpie.
