im 14 yrs old and i have never broken a case and i really want to but i cant make up my mind what i should do for my birthday jan20. should i just preorder 6 boxes of 10-11 sp authentic($600) or should i get a case of 08-09 heroes and prospects($500) i love both products. then the last choice 08-09 ud s2 case($334) on sale. I dont want to waist my money so i kinda want some decent hits. my mind is saying heroes and prospects i hate when this happens. help is appreciated

It sounds like your all-time favorite product is H&P, so I think you should go with that. Plus, wouldn't it be better to get a whole case of H&P instead of "just" 6 boxes of SPA? Over the long run, the H&P case is actually $100 cheaper than the SPA boxes.

This is just my opinion, you should go with the product you prefer.

I'm still waiting to break my own first case. Let's just say that I'm over 14

As was mentionned. 6 boxes of SPA does not a case make. SPA is usually 12 boxes a case. If you buy that you'll still be waiting to break your first case.

    As for 08-09 H&P vs 08-09 UD S2 that's really a toss up.

In terms of how much people want stuff, usually it would go in order:
    SPA, UD S2, H&P

UD S2... See, the problem with 08/09 UD S2 is that no one wants it. The best RC in the set is Varlamov, and he's not that popular since his Cup run. You're got a few SP jerseys, maybe a clear cut duo, a signature sensation and maybe a patch. at best, you're looking at a crosby, Gretzky or Orr auto, but those would be rare.

H&P has no NHL logos, but you can pull a Tavares or Hedman Auto, and it also tends to have great looking GU pieces.

In this case, I would say, if you want to trade stuff, SPA, if you want to feel 'good' after a break, whether or not you pulled a big hit, H&P. If you want to take a real big risk... then I'd still say SPA. If you wanted to break for fun break to say you've broken a case and get the cheapest most possible thing without caring about return on value, then I suppose you could do worse than 08/09 UD S2, but really any other year of S2 would be better. ATM though, I can't think of a case that would be worse than UD S2... actually even then I woulnd't do it. For the same price, you could probably get a decent amount of 10-11 Score which would be a way better return.

If you really want to go for a CASE of UD, try 05/06 UD S2. You can pull Ovechkin RC, Crosby RC autos or plates, some great hits and GU and its not that expensive. There's still lots out there at reasonable prices

That's just an example, but I really suggest staying away from 08/09 UD S2.
