No, this guy is a complete tool. Other team security personnels just observe for any suspicious behavior from people who may harm the players and staff, whether it's physically or deceiving them to sign legal contracts of sorts. When the Hawks came in the preseason, he didn't say much and just watched as the players came over to sign. When they came back for their first game here in the regular season, he was saying all sorts of stuff like we're all selling the players' autographs, we're making all that money with the players not seeing a dime of it, and even told me that he better catch me the next time the Hawks return to play here next month.

That ticked me off to the point where I wanted to test his chin, but showed great restraint and just shook him off with verbal sarcasm. If we're really all sellers, why in the world would I want the autographs of lesser known players such as Etan Thomas, Jason Collins, etc. I've been nothing but courteous to the players and staff, thanking them and wishing them the best of luck. But I am planning to return to the hotel to graph the Hawks as well as buying lower level tickets to the game next month, just so I can agitate this guy. Give him a little authority and he's playing God already. I'm bringing this clown down back to earth to remind him that he is nothing more than a security guard and that he can't dictate whether the players could or could not sign.

The Hawks are a great signing team, but this fool is trying to poison them. Even head coach Larry Drew looked a little annoy by his antics, when he was signing for me. Hopefully, he gets fired after this season, otherwise, I'll get the privilege to clown on him some more.

every time they venture out of an arena, a hotel. its got to be draining on them

This should not be an excuse to be rude to fans of the game. He is a representative of the Hawks' organization. As such, he should model the teams' values. I am sure that just because he is tired or rundown, they would find it unacceptable to be disrespectful to their fans. A team wants to create the very best atmosphere for their fans to have a great experience. It sounds like this guy is a poisen and has spoiled many fans experiences. He is there to protect the players or look out for the unruly fan, not herd them through and dictate what they, the athlete should be doing.

I will not tell you where or for whom I work, but believe me, it is a job that can wear down many many people and biting one's tongue becomes habit but I have to remember who I represent. I would take this security guy's job over in a heartbeat if the pay was better...and if I were half a foot taller with an extra 35 pounds on me =)

I am planning to return to the hotel to graph the Hawks as well as buying lower level tickets to the game next month, just so I can agitate this guy

Then he will actually be doing his real job by kicking you out, and show his supervisors or whoever that he is doing a "good job." Though, I'm sure a little agitation wouldn't be bad...I just wouldn't push it to "heckling" type levels.

Has anyone from down, around that way think of filing a complaint against him? I'm sure it wouldn't be the first from what people are saying on this board.

Well I live in Georgia and go to hawks games all the time. I never got autos at hotels but I have had a bad experience from one of the ushers at Phillips Areans. This ugly old lady who is an usher there is so rude and nasty when we try to go downstairs to get autos during player warm ups. She tells us some crap about we need to have a lower level ticket to go down there to get autos. Does she know something that no one else who works for Phillips know? I never let this old hag stop me, I simply go the other way in to go down to get autos. Not only that but I get autos of both the hawks and thier opponents. HA!! Now take that you old bag!!
