So after tonights game I lost count of how many Red Wings was on the injured list and here it is:

Osgood
Howard
Stuart
Daytsuk
Cleary
Modano
Holmstrom


I mean we have both Griffins goalies now and half the team from Griffins...

With that said we got a point for last nights game and the win for tonight. I hope they keep it up although I think they are playing Pens on Tues and I think Crosby will be back by then for the game.

Your thoughts?

It's rough. Reminds me of last year only happening in the middle and not the beginning. I think we'll lose as MacDonald is awful. We NEED Datsyuk back!

Osgood went in for surgery so long time
Howard bruised knee probably short term
Stuart just finished surgery (broken jaw + week earlier hit back of the head with a slap shot) talk about bad karma!
Daytsuk broken wrist long time
Cleary forgot what it was but I think for a while
Modano out for the season skate blade sliced hit wrist / tendons
Holmstrom broken wrist long time

just pure bad luck, luckily their up there in the western conference so a good cushion for the playoffs.

Yeah I was thinking that. I'm hoping they all can come back for this season. Obviously Modano is out but atleast the rest of them.

Datsyuk should be back by the end of the month. Cleary should be back in a few weeks too. Holmstrom doesn't really matter as he's been more of a pylon this year than anything, and Howard has been TERRIBLE the past few weeks so the break will probably be good for him. I really don't think joey macdonald is that bad, he's come in and played fairly well when called upon against Colorado after Howard gave up 4 goals on 9 shots in something like 14 minutes. Modano is a non factor, I'd rather have Jan Mursak, Tomas Tatar, or one of the other young guys battling for a roster spot than Modano out there, he contributed next to nothing, no forecheck, no backcheck, he was slow, etc.

I agree with this. Also, they are saying Crosby will not be playing tonight against the Wings.

As for the Griffins stepping up and filling in I give them credit I believe both have a goal and MacDonald giving the situation he was put in did a decent job. Some of those saves were crazy.

Howard is back now. He played tonight. Kindl got his first NHL goal also tonight.
