Didn't see a thread on this- NFL training camp autos
I know it is many months away, but since my beloved Eagles have bit the dust it got me thinking towards next year. How does one get autos at training camp?
I remember going to Eagles training camp years ago and hearing something about how each position (QB, RB, LB, etc) sign on a given day on a first come first serve ticket basis, however I never got an auto. Can someone elaborate how to get autos at training camp? Do you have to be there super early?
The time I went practice was like 8-12, we got there at 11, saw the players practice (this was the first year Owens was on the Eagles so that was cool). However like I said I wasn't able to get any autos. This was before I started graphing in earnest, and I was like 16, so maybe I just didn't know what I was doing or wasn't aggressive enough.
I am 100% going to training camp this coming summer- it is about an hour from my place. Any help would be appreciated from someone that has gotten autos at any training camp, but especially the Eagles @ Lehigh U.

I've heard the same thing about the Eagles and would assume that means you need to be there early. I heard about some team last year, may have been the Eagles, that only gave the tickets to kids under a certain age.
At a lot of other camps you just get there near the end of practice and get guys as they head to the locker rooms.
Another thing to keep an eye out for are team "garage sales." Teams will, it seems randomly, have days where they set up tents and sell old game used jerseys, pants and balls for reasonable prices. They are mostly from practice squad and backup guys, but still cool items to get team signed, have in a collection, or even just wear or use to throw around in the yard. I don't know if every team does it, but I know a few do.

I hope that "kid ticket" policy is not the case in Philly, otherwise I will be befriending my young cousins that live back at home.
As a cool story, I shouldn't say that all my training camp experiences were bad. The one time I went and it was armed forces appreciation day. All the veterans were welcomed onto the field and into the tent for autos and all the star players were signing for them.
We were watching the long line of veterans coming out with their stuff signed. Again we were like 15 at the time. A nice older guy came over and saw us standing there behind the fence and was like "I just got Brian Westbrook, but I think I could get back through the line to him again, throw me what you have to get signed." Well all I had was literally the shirt off my back (an Eagles jersey). I threw it to him. I literally had NO OTHER ITEM with me to get signed. The only problem? The jersey was MCNABB! I know players don't usually sign other players' jerseys, but I guess he was reluctant to say no to an old veteran. So as it is I have a McNabb jersey signed by Brian Westbrook framed on display in my room. A little embarrassing as a true hobbyist now? Sure it is. But the story is funny in my opinion and a happy one, so I'm not about to complain. And besides this is a better use of a McNabb jersey than throwing it in the trash (like the rest of my McNabb jerseys this year).

Eagle's do TC autographs based upon position groups and they do them at different times. And you need to get a ticket to get in line to get an autograph. I want to say its a raffle and not a first come first server type of thing.. I would love to go to Eagles but considering that the chances of scoring an auto are slim, I'm not wasting my time.
I have seen a few successes where players just come over and sign but its not often and normally not a star.

I went to patriots TC a few years back and was on the day the RB's came over. Now this is when they had JR redmond & Patrick Pass & a few others i can't remember. I got Pass and redmond then all of a sudden Brady walks over. Right to me 1st and i already had the ball signed by 2 guys who were not anything special. He takes 1 look at me and my ball and then only signed for cute girls. I was devistated and can't like brady since then. I know he cant sign for all but he was gonna take my ball till he saw me a guy holding it. Then went for the girl.

I wish I could get Vick to sign my Sports Illustrated. HA! I never get to attend Training Camps. I do attend Celebrity Golf events, Senior Bowl, and other signings around Alabama. I will see the Braves Caravan in 2 weeks. I would be willing to do 50/50 for some of the guys I need if any of you would be interested. I also see Justin Tuck, Terrell Owens (When in town) Gerald Wallace, Jerome Gamble and Adalius Thomas when seasons are over.
Let me know who you guys will attend and if you will do 50/50.

Might be able to. Not sure who will be at my locations yet. If I can't I will def try to get a auto you need. They don't guarantee you to get a auto. I always try to be the first in attendance for these things. I will let you know once they release the names for Auburn, Alabama.
