Can't believe I'm asking this, but baseball autos IP- how to get them
Hey guys, I feel like a real noob asking this, but I am wondering how you guys get autographs at baseball games in person. I understand that by asking this I may look like a hypocrite, as I have gotten guys like Ryan Howard, Carl Crawford and Shane Victorino in person (so I am obviously doing something right). Still, I often feel like I am lucky in getting these and reap the benefits of my 7 foot wingspan (I am 6'6").
My strategy is generally get there when the gates open, and then go behind the dugout. At the Phillies stadium generally there will be a few visiting players in the dugout signing during the visiting team's BP. I have gotten some guys like Shin Soo Choo and Wilson Ramos that way.
Then after batting practice, I go and stake out a spot down the line where the position players will be warming up close to gametime and hopefully come over and sign. This is where I got guys like Ryan Howard etc.
There are also some odd cases, like for instance at Tropicana Field where the bullpen is on the field down the line. In this case for instance I got the entire Twins Pitching staff as they sat on the bench in the bullpen pregame at a Rays Twins game.
So generally speaking is this a viable strategy, anything you would add/subtract? Just interested in sharing ideas.

in the philly lot you have to hope a guy stops his car and signs. the philllies are know as terrible signers.

It sounds like solid logic to me. Every ballpark has its little quirks--it sounds like you have Philly's nailed. By and large if you find something that works at one ballpark, it can be tweaked on the fly to work St another.

ok, guys Ive been to 8 different stadiums, 2 (Shea and The Vet) of which are gone and 1 is not a being used anymore (Dolphin Stadium or what ever they call it these days) these are my experiences of graphing at the these stadiums. Chase Field is internal parking. Roger Centre is underground. But, at times players stop. Baltimore, most of the visiting team arrives by taxi and they are dropped off in front of the stadium and in my opinion is the easiest place to get auto's. Citi Field is hit and miss. i have never and probably will never try Yankee Stadium. PNC was a okay outside

For what it's worth I got Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Kevin Millwood in 2009 when they were on the Rangers inside Yankee Stadium- they signed after warmups.
