Player Collectors- What Are Your Ultimate goals?

I was thinking what I want to accomplish as a player collector and would like to know what other player collectors would like to do (or have done) that makes them feel they are a true dedicated player collector. Feel free to show your "Ultimate Achievements".


My goals I want (or wanted) to achieve are:

1. Complete an entire print run- ACCOMPLISHED!

07-08 O Pee Chee Premier Gold Spectrum /5

2. Obtain an actual Game Used item- ACCOMPLISHED!
I never thought I would get one as to me, they are rather expensive, but thanks to my fiance, I have one!
(Christmas gift. I got the Game Used Stick and she got a kitten, lol)

09-10 Game Used Stick

3. Complete a "By The Letter" set- Jordan doesn't have one yet, . The best I got is the 07-08 SP Game Used Letter Marks and Number Marks sets. (Maybe I will just make my own, lol)

4. This one will probably never happen but I also said that about the first two....have my collection acknowledged by Jordan himself. That would be my ultimate goal. Impressing your favorite player with "pieces of cardboard" would be incredible. I know other player collector's have done it so maybe there is hope, lol.

My ultimate goals for my Raymond pc, is to oneday own a game used stick, and to maybe oneday save up to snag the 07-08 hot prospects patch auto. Those 2 pieces would be sick!

Yeah, I feel your pain. Jordan has:

39 cards in 06-07 Ultimate Memorabilia (17 are 1/1's) I have 17 but just one 1/1...two 1/1's I bought got lost in the mail, even with Express Post shipping!

6 cards in 07-08 Ultimate Memorabilia including a 1/1....I HAVE ALL SIX! Very proud of that even though the 1/1 cost me alot.

2 cards in 10-11 Ultimate memorabilia one of which is a 1/1....but I just bought the 1/1 two days ago and it is on it's way! Once again it cost me a fair bit to get it (it was also my 600th different Jordan Staal and I like to make my "century" cards special) but to have his only 8 cards in the past 2 releases where Jordan actually has cards in Ultimate Memorabilia is also an accomplishment I am really proud of. I really like Ultimate Memorabilia...such a classy set!

I asked, or at least hinted to, Dr. Price many times to include Jordan in an upcoming release of Ultimate Memorabilia. When I saw he had 2 cards in this years set...I had to have them!

Well, first, I'd like to get some money to pay my driver's license (I'm not old enough but will be in less than 8 months). Then, I'll be able to spend money on cards and really start my collection. I would really like to have a Game Used item of Halak and meet him in person. I would also like to complete an entire print run and collect autographed items of him.

For my Gorges collection, attaining and then maintaining 100% completion is the ultimate objective. Not counting show-stamped H&P cards, I am 3 cards away from that goal. Sadly they're all #'d /6 or /5, while those stamped cards are /10 and extremely hard to find.

For the Carey Price collection, I just want to be known as "the guy" - there's simply way too many low numbered, big-dollar value cards to have the same approach with this PC as I do with the Gorges collection. I'd also like to meet him sometime.

for me it would have to be these, they are quite difficult goals but I can hope

1- Own a game used stick and game used gloves

2- Complete a whole year of Joe Thornton's cards.

3- Meet Joe Thornton and talk about my card collection with him

4- Reach 3000 different cards, currently has about 3600 and I have 870

Get 100% of his cards. My current want list is at 10, so there's not a lot out there.... but all are low print runs, and really hard to find.

For my Ryan Smyth collection I would like to accomplish:

1. Over 600 different Ryan Smyth cards by the end of 2011(currently have 310)

2. To pick up any two 1 of 1's

3. Be known as the "Ryan Smyth" guy. Like when someone pulls something of Roy or Brodeur they automatically think of Pheebs. That's what I would like to be for Ryan Smyth.
