Andrej Meszaros Quietly Making a Case for the Norris Trophy
Coming into the 2010-11 NHL season, hockey bloggers and writers around the puck universe made preseason predictions on just about every aspect of the game.
Who's going to win the Stanley Cup, who's going to represent each conference in the Finals, will Henrik Sedin repeat as the Hart Memorial winner (awarded to the League's most valuable player)? So on and so on.

I don't see how anyone can think that he could even be in the top 3 candidates for Norris. The only thing he has going for him is leading the league in +/- but then again that also helps when you play for the highest scoring team in the league. They have 13 different skaters that are in double figures in pisotive +/-. Honestly he might not even be the best Norris candidate on the team, that could go to Matt Carle
If they think +/- is a big category then maybe they should look more towards someone like Ryan Whitney of Edmonton who is leading the team with a +13 on one of the worst teams in the NHL. So far this season they have been outscored by 45 goals. Only a couple are more than even and second highest to Whitney os Horcoff at +4. I think that speaks louder volumes than any defenseman with PhillyLast edited by duwal; 01-25-2011 at 02:50 PM.
