Tim Thomas Astounds Me
With everything considered (his age, last season, his vezina from a few years ago, the rise of Tuuka Rask), it absolutely astounds me that this guy plays the way he does, and puts up the kind of numbers that he has. If the season ended tomorrow and he wasn't named Vezina winner, I'd cry foul!
Tim Thomas - 2010-2011 (before February has even started):

Here he is owning Francois Beauchemin a few weeks ago on a Saturday night:

well yeah, like we said weeks ago, there really isn't even any close competition to him to win the award

Tim Thomas is such a fun goalie to watch! He really plays a different style than most goaltenders and makes some crazy acrobatic saves (which are usually a result of poor positioning or rebound control). He's a Vezina front-runner for sure though

He definitely is astounding. That's why I've got him as my goaltender in 2/3 of my fantasy hockey teams! lol He's certainly a legend and worthy of the Vezina in my humble opinion.

He has been fun to watch. He plays like a cowboy, challenging shooters, taking away angles, so much more so than other goalies. The only criticism I have is when he rolls on his back, which he has done atleast 5 times this season, two of which have resulted in goals.

i was hoping crawford was going to continue his rampage but he has cooled off in the last 2 games.

I dont think anyone is even close to this guy right now - there was some hot goalies to start the season (Price, Quick, Pavelec, Howard) but have cooled off in the last month or so...but Thomas has stayed red hot!
The only way I can think of him losing the Vezina is if he tanks the rest of the year....but I doubt that will happen....

I can't recall any year off hand that a goalie has averaged 1.84 GAA, .945 SV%, and 7 shutouts in 35 games! He's averaging 1 shutout every 5 games! That's just insane. Let's hope he can keep up that pace...except when they play the Leafs
