    eBay Communication Question/Combined Shipping

What do you do with a guy who refuses to respond to your request to combine shipping? I won 4 auctions from a seller. Each time I try to check out he tries to charge me $2 per item. I know this guy will ship all four together.

Have you dealt with something like this? Should I just pay and hit him on the shipping feedback? I know I'll end up paying $8 and will see a $1.50 tag on the bubble mailer that arrives.

I would eventually pay the $8 for shipping along with a note stating an expectation of shipping refund. Before I pay I would send twenty invoice requests. It usually works.

I agree. Just keep sending invoice requests. If he wants paid then you will get an invoice.

I usually make sure that they combine shipping before I even mess around with bidding on an item. With that said, i think what the other people have said should work also.

thats a tough one. does he specifically speak to combined shipping in his auctions?

I'd just keep asking him about it and see what happens. Seems like he'd reply with an email saying he doesn't combine at the very least. Simply ignoring it is quite unprofessional.

Yep.. agreed.. if he's not going to respond after 5 requests he gets nailed on the communication feedback.. and if he ships them together, he gets nailed on the shipping costs.

Let us know how it turns out!

If it doesn't say that he combines shipping in the description then you can't assume it. Pay for each item separately and add a note that you expect him to ship you 4 different packages. If he ships it all in 1 package, hit him in the DSRs and consider it a lesson learned.

It's against ebay rules to try to make money on shipping costs. I'd try to argue to him initially that that's what he's doing by not combining shipping. If he does end up charging you $8 and the stamp for your items is like $1.50, I think you'd have grounds to report him to ebay. I've reported sellers at the point of the listing for trying to profit on shipping fees and seen their listing taken down. It should also work after the fact.

That's my .02 cents from a 400+ feedback ebay seller. It's crappy to not combine shipping.

Did the description say anything about combined shipping?
