    My first custom

Well guys I thought I would share with you guys my first attempt at making a custom card. I made this using GIMP since I don't have my copy of Photoshop yet, it should get here next week. This was my first time ever using gimp, I have used photoshop in the past but this is a bit different. Now that I have used GIMP I can honestly say that I much preffer PS.

Anyway Like I said this is my first attempt so go easy on me. Any cooments, tips, or suggestions would be appreciated. Also a question for anyone using gimp. Every time I have printed this out the print quality is really bad. I have it saved as a JPEG with the highest quality it lets me. I never have any problems when printing photos, nor have I had this issue in the past when I used photoshop. Is there something I am doing wrong?

Well enough talk here is the custom I made........*Ryan*

I think it looks good. You added some nice extra flair to it with the lines and baroque style to the sig area. It's a great effort, especially for a first custom!

I like it. I think the reason you are having trouble with print quality is you're not making the custom in 300 ppi. I went through the same ordeal and was oblivious to what was going wrong for a while, got frustrating. Next time you make a custom, when you hit new, just make sure you go down to templates, click on a 300 ppi one (doesn't matter which) then choose your dimensions. Your other stuff will have to be bigger in size to fit the high res, but you'll have crystal clear prints.

Thanks for the comments. Ya I was thinking the same thing Jake. It really didn't look bad as I was working on it, but as soon as I posted it here with the Message boards having the white background I was able to see just how Light it was............*Ryan*
