Question To Team Collectors Trying To Complete Full All-Time Roster

I've noticed a few people on here are trying to do the whole 1 card for every player that has ever played for such and such a team. I'm wondering where did you obtain the list of players for trying to accomplish this? I'm thinking of attempting it for the Buffalo Sabres, but I'm not sure where I should look to get a list of every player that has played at least 1 NHL regular season or playoff game for them. And after that, finding out if all those players even appeared on a hockey card at least once.

So yeah, anyone that can provide me with a bit of that information to get started, thanks a lot!

The internet Hockey Database (hockeydb.com) has all-time rosters for every team in the NHL. Using this list, you could search a hockey card database like the one on this site to find cards for each player.

I've done a similar project for the Oilers. At the time of building my origional list, I had the benefit of working at a company where I used a web crawler that was easily customizable..... so I just stayed late one day and set it up to download complete rosters from each season.... loaded it all into a database, sorted it, and my list was done.

Could be done pretty easily in Excel, by just looking at it visually (what I did, going through each season's roster) but it would take a while.
