Team Lidstrom Wins All Star Game

Just Curious - Baseball All-Star Game - What incentive does a player who made it to the All-Star game but is on a team that is not even close to the playoffs - why who he make a diving catch to save the game and risk injury.....and add one to it - a contract year......just so someone else in his conference gets home field advantage

Thats great that the home field advantage is based on the winner - so basically giving no meaning to playing your butt off all year to be #1 team.....

I liked what they did this year - probably the best one I have seen since Gretzky/Lemieux played - The All-Star Game is more for Fans - to see all the NHL all-stars in one game showing their talent.

A couple things I would do for the next one.....

Actually do the draft on the Ice.....
Take the fan vote away - Fleury? Malkin? Keith? seriously? not even playing like All-Stars this year - so many others more deserving then them. And Streit was on the ballot - ummm he didnt even play in the first 3 months

Compared to the past, I thought tonight's game was more exciting. 5 players scored 2 goals and Kopitar scored a nice one on Ward to give Team Lidstrom their first of the game.

I was happy Kopi had a good game - He didnt many chances in the last one....

I thought Staal was pretty entertaining with his live commentary. His best was talking down the bench to a teammate; "Hey, tell your partner to play a little defence between the two of you. What are you guys, -4? Like, come on!"
