serial/#d noob question
Well ... not a noob to collecting, just new to the current scene. So can someone take a second to explain serial/#d cards. I guess I'm not sure what exactly that means. If the print run is say 150 ... does that mean that there are only 150 of those cards printed in total (in the world)?
So if I pull a card that is #85/100 does that mean I have the 85th printed card out of the 100 .. and that there are only 100 of those cards in existence?
Thanks for the input guys!

You're right..... but it depends on what you mean by "that card".
There are a lot of parallels (which means they are basically the same card, but with something slightly different about them).
Upper Deck Series 1 has 'base' cards (not serial numbered, nothing special about them). No idea what the print run is.
Then there are 'Upper Deck Exclusives' which look exactly like the base cards, but with a little bit of extra foil, and a serial number /100.
Then there are 'Upper Deck Spectrum Exclusives' which look exactly like the exclusives, but the foil is a little different, and they have a serial number /10
This kind of formual can apply to lots of different types of cards too.

There can be a card 3/100, but there are sometimes another 500 very similiar cards. When you hear about parallels vs true #/10 it can be a world of difference in value. I prefer a good looking car #/200 rather than paying a premium for about the same thing #/25
