    lemuiex o pee chee rc

    i bought a large collection that included both a topps and o pee chee mario rcs. the topps is in ok shape, the opc is beautiful. i'm worried its a counterfiet. how do i tell?

    the biggest giveaway for the lemieux fakes I've seen has a very off coloured back. Compare it to a common card from the same set & the difference will scream at you if it is a fake.

    Here is my Mario OPC RC - Card Back.

    Should show two colour Rich medium red, fading into a pinkish insert colour. The lighter colours are a rich light cream.

    On many of the Mario fakes, the cream-coloured areas are Grey.

    Hope this helps.

    I thought there was also a problem with the red colour bleeding onto the front with some repros, plus fuzziness in the NHLPA logo.

    I can't say I've ever looked close at the logos but I've heard the reproductions don't have the sharpness
    You're right, the red does go up the edge of the card & you can slightly see a tint of it in a few spots around the edge.
