Game starts at 1pm, Verlander needs to go out and put on an ace performance.
Lineup today
1. Will Rhymes 2B
2. Brennan Boesch LF
3. Magglio Ordonez RF
4. Miguel Cabrera 1B
5. Victor Martinez DH
6. Don Kelly CF
7. Jhonny Peralta SS
8. Alex Avila C
9. Brandon Inge 3B
Its bad enough Kelly plays at all, but hitting 6th? Thats insane. He could go 5-5 today with 5 HRs and I'd still think thats insane to hit him 6thHidden Content

So Magglio gets hurt, and Miggy had the only hits of the game till the 8th inning for Detroit. Not gonna fly, gotta get the bats going, can only hope that Penny has a good start tommorow.
Verlander goes the distance, such a shame the offense gave him nothing to work with. He gave the ace performance expected of him nonetheless
EDIT:
I'm in favor of either DH'ing Magglio fulltime or cutting him loose, its 100% clear he can't play right field, and when he does, he hurts himself. His bat is great to have, but if he can't stay healthy, it does the Tigers no good.
I'd also move VMart from 5th to 3rd atleast for the time being, I think it'd help the offense out much more to be behind Cabrera, especially if Rhymes/Jackson are gonna continue to not hit well. The Rangers showed tonight that they still wont pitch to Cabrera even if they have to put the tying run on base in the 9th.Last edited by gladdyontherise; 04-11-2011 at 04:38 PM.

Today's lineup. Game is at 1pm
1. Austin Jackson CF
2. Ramon Santiago 2B
3. Ryan Raburn LF
4. Miguel Cabrera 1B
5. Victor Martinez C
6. Brennan Boesch DH
7. Jhonny Peralta SS
8. Brandon Inge 3B
9. Casper Wells RF
Its a good thing we signed Martinez i'd say..to be honest though with no Magglio, i'd really rather have Peralta hit 3rd over Raburn, Peralta is hitting very well right now, and Raburn stinks in the first half..hopefully it changes today.
Really need Penny to give 6 innings and give up only a run or two.
Tigers have had success against CJ Wilson though in his career, although that was out of the bullpen.

Brad Penny's day is done. 6.2 innings, and 3 runs given up, left the game with a lead, all you can ask.

Good team win, offense battled all day, Penny was solid enough, and a big hit from Miggy.
Scherzer on the mound tommorow, chance to take 2 of 3.
