Might be a stupid question
Has anyone tried crashing a sports convention, basically trying to find players before or after the scheduled signing? I use to do this all the time at wrestling conventions. Me and some friends were thinking of doing this at the football spectacular, because one it seems like a fun time, and two if it was possible to get some free graphs/pic opportunities it might be worth going to. There are a ton of guys there charging waaaaay too much for autographs/pictures
Any tips if this is possible guys?

But in all seriousness, most are pretty nice if you just go up to their table and ask for a pic with (unless they're already separetly charging for photo ops)

Haha! Wow that entire thread made me feel like kind of a jerk. But yea the football spectacular has photo ops for all players there. But really? $150 to take a picture with Ladainian Tomlinson? $250 to take a pic with Emmitt Smith? Yea.......I'd love to avoid that haha

Be careful, I started a thread kinda sorta like this and got ripped. I have never crashed ANY signings (though I have this reputation) but lots of people that have crashed it talked to me about it. Honestly yes, you can get most guys as they walk around, and I have even heard that most guys sign after their professional signings if you catch them en route to their car, but not all. So if you want 100% certainty, pay for them, but I am cheap by nature and won't pay for autos generally. So I agree with what you are saying and think it's a good way to get some cheap autos.

Yea, I mean I'm only 19. I don't exactly have a job that allows me to shell out $150 to get a football signed or $200 to get a picture with somebody lol. Dude I really felt bad for you, the majority of people replying were being extremely rude and critical.

It's okay, we're passed it. I talked to a lot of the people whose opinions on here I respect and most people apologized for being rude but they are entitled to their opinion on that being wrong. I have made amends with most of these people. The fact that I am still the butt of jokes on here is fine, I invited it on myself by asking it.
But yeah, I am in a similar boat- 23 years old and in medical school. Not financially secure enough to shell out dough yet.

I don't think it is some big complication. Just go afterwords, catch the player on the way out in the parking lot or whatever, act nice and don't give him five things to sign. It'll probably work just fine that way.
