In your opinion who's the best valued Rookie?

Who's cards do you think are the most under-rated?

well, it might be biased, but I think Trevor Ariza is under-rated value wise... he was a rare find late in the second round and is only getting typical rookie minutes with the old Knicks, but he is part of their youth movement... when he plays, he puts up real good numbers and even had started down the stretch... plus he is only 19 or 20! He and Mike Sweetney are going to be the future of the Knicks...

I agree, I think Mike Sweetney has a lot of potential. As of a rookie, maybe not so underated, but if ur a card collector, and looking for a good investment card, go buy a Ben Gordon Card. Also, I think Sebastian Telfair, portland Trail Blaizers is also a good investment card.

You guys are so biased. Here is my list:

Michael Redd - Plays in Milwaukee and doesn't get the big city galore. Averaged 23 ppg last season. More than Shaq, Garnett, Pierce, and Duncan. Cheap finds on eBay. Topps Chrome RC is 12BV.

Corey Maggette - Has PTP'er potential. Can find tons of autos for under 10 bucks on eBay. I guess you can consider this guy a second tier all-star.

Elton Brand - Solid 20 ppg, 10 rpg, 2 bpg player. But yet he is not in the class of the other top PF. Cheap finds on eBay. Espically in Autos.

Jalen Rose - Been scoring in dozens for a long time. Still get's no respect. Check his stats. Check the steals on this guy on eBay.

Al Harrington - Very good season for a very horrible team. Cheap finds on eBay. Still needs more solid seasons though.

Now for the most overrated player:

Stephon Marbury - Just because he plays in New York...he gets more attention then the better point guards in the NBA like Steve Nash, Steve Francis, or Baron Davis.

Yao Ming - Can't even dominate Erick Dampier even though he's 5-6 inches taller than him. Man...let me play basketball with someone that much shorter and the hoop being a tip above my finger. See if I don't score 50.

Yuta Tabuse - The guy couldn't even stick in the NBA. But yet his cards are so high booking and his cards sell for so much on eBay...guess Japan has some serious buying power...see Chan Ho (I Get Millions on the DL) Park and Hideo (I can't find a home) Nomo.

Darko Milicic - When is this guy suppose to be the next Dirk Nowitizki? At this rate...he wouldn't even be the next Dino Radja.

Drew Gooden - Overrated just because he plays with LeBron.

Mike Sweetney - The second coming of Charles Barkley and Elton Brand? Yeah right...more like Oliver Miller. Should of showed more potential to push Kurt Thomas to Center. Hasn't showed nearly the potential of a Raw Chris Bosh...which was suppose to take longer to develope than Thomas.

Didn't he ask about valued ROOKIES??? I do agree with the Maggette and Elton for sure, even Jaen a bit.
However.... Starbury is anything but Overrated, are you kidding me. I think it's quite the opposite in fact. He's one of the best point guards out there (especially scoring-wise) I don't think any single player can check him. And this is coming from a Boston fan, so I'm not biased.

Anyway, back to the Subject at hand. I agree with wildcat.., Gordon is a no-brainer, and Telfair will be very good. Here's my "Homer" call, look out for Al Jefferson, once he learns the game a bit more, this guy will be a stud. Give him 2-3 more years!!

The card world and real worl d of basketball and stats are two different things. Yeah Redd cards are pretty much junk. There are tons of guys in every sport that put up more than solid stats but get the short end of the stick when it comes to cards.

my 2 cents. sorry to post on your Rookie board.

As far as rookies though, it's so hard to say with RCs in the card world. Hell, aren't Lebrons even starting to drop. Although they were crazy high, but if anyone should stay up it's him. Maybe just too must fanfair.

just to make it clear, I only slightly mentioned Sweetney as a 'youth movement' with the Knicks... you cant discount Trevor Ariza though... write this down, he will be an All-Star!

Trevor Ariza is no Gilbert Arenas. He is raw. Has some potential. But in my opinion...he would be a more athletic Tim Thomas with lesser shooting skills.

i think jarvis hayes depending on how he recovers from his knee injury. ive invested some money in him.

his autos are dirt cheap on the bay and most of his cards dont carry a high bv.
he was drafted in the same class with wade and lebron so he doesnt get much attention. hes 2nd on the depth chart (SF wizards) but will likely move to starter soon. avg 29 minutes 10ppg but i think he has the potential to put up good numbers next year on the already playoff contending wizards. maybe mj can teach him the ins and outs of being a forward.
