Does he have to do the same clearing thing that made such a kerfuffle over Nabokov?
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

well that depends on if Emery has as much demand as Nabokov would have had

If a team claims Emery, he would have to stay in the NHL and couldn't be demonted ot the AHL. So that only leaves teams that really need a goalie, and after the injury emery suffered (hip ball-joint) I don't really know why we (anaheim) even picked him up... Maybe just to give the poor guy a job.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Islander claim Emery since Nabokov won't report to the team. With that said, is there a rule saying that a team moves to the back of the line once they make a claim from waivers?

I'm under the impression he does have to clear, just like Nabby did.
But the word this afternoon (Doug McLean, for what it's worth) is that he will clear. Emery has been shopping himself around for a while, the Islanders have already passed on him, at the same price.

Im hoping that he goes somewhere besides the ducks, just because if he ends up coming to the NHL to play for them, chances are Mcelhinney losses the backup job.

It's a good addition to their roster. Solid goalie.
