Analysis: Frolik for Skille

On February 9th, the Chicago Blackhawks acquired Michael Frolik and Alexander Salak for Jack Skille, Hugh Jessiman and David Pacan. The 2 key pieces to the deal are Frolik and Skille.

For Chicago, they are getting a player that already has 2 21 goal season for the Panthers. While his goals are down this season, he is still on pace for for 44 points, which is his average in his 1st 2 NHL seasons. They are also getting a goalie that might be have an outside chance to play in Chicago in a year or two.

it's amazing to me that it's a new GM and the SAME things happen to this franchise... it's got to be the water

Am I the only one thinking that the Blackhawks walked away winners in this trade?

I think it depends on Skille... he was invisible last night against the Sabres... so early results is the Panthers got hosed again

Not at all. I think that's what most people think.

Give it time though. It's not like Frolik has ever set the world on fire (though he's a better player than Skille, thus far).

Obviously Dale Tallon likes something about Jack Skille, and so he did what he needed to do to go out and get him.

Am I the only one thinking that the Blackhawks walked away winners in this trade?

Rumor here in Chicago is that Skille and a couple of the younger Hawks got called out by some of the older players for not playing hard the entire game a couple of weeks ago. Supposedly Skille was the only player called out by name. It's also become known that Skille was part of the Kane party group.

I think Skille is no more then a 3rd/4th line player with excellent speed who is shoot first pass second.
