    Jerry Sloan Resigns

He never won a championship but he won a lot of America over with his attitude, passion and genuine care about his players.

Today the NBA lost one of the best coaches in the games history.

Enjoy retirement or whatever else you plan on doing Mr. Sloan. I for one will miss you.

That's a shocker. Everyone respected Utah because they always fought hard, no matter who was on their team. I was surprised to read on yahoo that he wasn't getting along with D-Will.

I had no idea that his relationship with D-Will has gotten so bad. I never figured D-Will to act that way either. Disappointing.

He will be remembered as one of the greats in coaching. Taking John Stockton and Karl Malone to 2 NBA Finals appearances against the Bulls was great. And his longevity in the NBA might not be broken with all the turnover in head coaches nowadays. I can't believe relationship with D-Will had got that bad to where it was D-Will or him.

Great coach even though he never won a title!

Honestly for the Jazz to have a future in the Western Conference a change needed to be made. The idea of losing the longest tenured coach is sports is disappointing, but all good things must come to end.

Sloan was a defensive minded, tough coach who was not connecting with his players probably because of the generation gap.
Ty Corbin is younger, closer to the players, and should have a better idea of what it takes to win in today's NBA.

Also, I dont think Sloan's relationship with D Will caused this, because Sloan admitted he let Deron run the offense and pretty much the team. I think it had more to do with how the other players viewed Sloan and him realizing he couldn't connect the same with today's players.

Sad stuff, he really was a great coach, even when he didn't have that much talent a few years ago they were making the playoffs.

Like Malone and Stockton, he had tough luck bumping into MJ's Bulls and Kobe's Lakers. He never won a ring, and for some odd reason, never won Coach of the Year. But he is one of the best Bkball coach of all times. If his system didn't work, he would not had coach 23 years. Wished he could have finished the season, but a great career and will be missed.
