My encounter with a pack searcher
Now i know that this is a HUGE unwritten, but cardinal rule, DONT pack search. I definatly agree with this. Today as i was at a certain retail store, getting a last minute card for the new mrs. As I was walking by I stopped by to see what the new Topps 2011 wrappers looked like. I just got back into baseball cards as a way of trying to quit chewing tobacco just to help get my mind off it and to try to connect with my nephews. As I was looking to buy a random pack of 2011 topps. I see a 40 something year old man, double my age, looking sketchy, he shoved me aside and started handling all the packs. I went to grab the things i needed and then came back to see he had some packs set aside, I walked past him and snatched them and went to the checkout. 30 seconds later I just hear the guy shouting and screaming as I am walking out of the store. As I am about to get in my car, he walks out chasing after me demanding to see what in the bag. He spots the packs and tries to take them but i give him a shove. He then tries to punch me, I was able to move to avoid his punch. I dropped my stuff, and immediatly got within punching distance from him and threw a leg kick. He immediatly started hobbling, but still kept coming at me. I hit him one more time in the mouth and he goes down holding his leg and mouth. I got my phone out and called the cops. All this trouble and im giving these packs to my nephews! I am now thinking that wow pack searchers are crazy, I am glad I do MMA, and these guys really ruin the hobby and take away from other people having that chance of getting something great. Do you guys think I did the right thing putting him in his place and leaving him with a sore jaw and leg?

I dont want to get banned for saying this but seriously fighting over a pack of cards with a tiny piece of clothing, gear, or a signature, to me it kind of seems really ridicilous if it was for a car, house, or something worth more than ya it would make more sense, but targets not getting my buisness, shinders is like mcdonalds with the workers pack searching, and over pricing cards,i need to really find a local store somewhere in MN!

first off, if he wanted them that bad he should have held onto them instead of putting them in a pile, 2nd of all I agree I think you did the right thing I mean come on now the guy was trying to attack you. Pack searches are the devil of this hobby, their worthless and all should be swirled down a toilet...by the way did he even pick good packs that actually contained auto's/GU'd???
