Hockey Fights
wow over the past few weeks the fighting has picked up and all i can say is my interest in near an all time high(not as high as when the hawks won the cup). I hated the penguins(mainly because of malkin and crosby) but they just love to fight now. Ive seen more goalie fights in the last 2 weeks than in the last 5 years or so.

In 1968 the Leafs and Bruins had 3 Bench Clearing Brawls, sorry not even close. The Flyers of 1971-1974 had more penalties themselves in some games than both teams combined last night.

The more they try to surpress hits, the more fights will ensue. Even legal hockey hits are generating penalties these days, it's pathetic. Penalties are even being called on players who go down after being hit, acting like it was worse than it was...
I say they divide into 2 seperate leagues... "full contact" and "2 hand touch"

I'm not a fan of what's going on. It paints the sport we love in a bad light. The days of bench clearing brawls and enforcers are dead, and that's the way it should be. Detroit is a model franchise for this. Kenny Holland doesn't sign a guy he doesn't think can contribute on the ice. Detroit hasn't had an enforcer type player in years, and I'm glad, that's the way the game should be played, with class, none of this garbage. The Bruins tried pulling that crap with the Wings Friday night and what wound up happening? Detroit let Boston take the penalties and smoked them 6-1.

hockey was made on the fact that players can fight, its part of its identity, while in other sports players get suspended or heavy fines when they fight
