Selling cards..
I am not selling anything, but if I ever WANTED to sell cards, what would be the percent of BV that would yield the greatest amount of money while still being able to sell the cards? Anyone know this?

depends on what it is... i generally sell GU/AUTO's for 25-30 percent while base/inserts go for around 10% if i can even find a buyer

Thats a question that has no solid answer, and if anyone figures it out LMK ..... Thats why I hate BV sometimes, it can ruin a great card. I sometimes even catch myself worrying about what Beckett says, and not focusing on the real issue: How much do I want that card??
Every player is different!! It's all about who's hot, and thats it.
HOFER Autos usually sell for over 50% BV or close to that.
Just to use one example of why BV sucks sometimes:
Peyton Manning auto... I have one of his auto's that only books for $40 yet I've seen that exact card sell for close to $60 or more on Ebay, so go figure.
Then again I have a Bird auto that is $200 BV, and saw it sell for $79
It's all in finding the right buyer, at the right time. I sold a Steve Blake Rookie auto to a guy at my hobby shop, for $25...his offer, how could I say NO. If I went on Ebay, I'd be lucky to have gotten $6-7. Like I said, it's all luck.

Your best bet is simple go to ebay see what the card seems to sell for! Cause if you have say an auto of joe smoe bv $50 but not one of those auto's sell over $10 its about supply and demand! Thats how beckett gets its book value! It says so right in the freakin book! this card sold at auction for such and such. Like irish told you its about timing and supply and demand you'll get more for a tom brady rc right after he wins the super bowl then at the beginning of the season and he comes up lame! Heres my biggest and best example: Kerry Woods throws a 20 k complete game (next Roger Clemens?) His rookies went through the roof! Way over book and people started hording them. Now look at where his cards book today! If you still got them bet that hurt if you paid premuim! I collect Bonds and before the hr chase everyone I mean everyone traded me all in my favor to get my so called star cards (Griffey Jr) I had a $100 griffey card and traded it for $150 in bonds. That was 6-7 years ago but the same applies. Just remember supply and demand push the price of cards. Hope this shed some light onto your question!

tutals post is about right on, but that's not to say other cards won't sell for more. As a bulk buyer myself, I find that I can negotiate a little better because I'm taking every card in a box rather than 1 or 2. The benefit to the selleris that he doesn't have to mess with any of it when he sells it all.
ebay is also a great way to guage prices as bonds said.

This may be a very stupid question, but here goes: How do you figure out what cards went for on EBay? Is in it one of the search tools or...?
I appreciate any feedback.
