Can't believe how well the mail handled these cards

Well, thanks to scottkoz's experiment, I received three commons in the mail today in three different envelopes. One was in a toploader, one was in a penny sleeve and the other had no protection whatsoever. I am very surprised to say that none of them are damaged. Scans are below:

I received a 3 envelope batch today and they all came in the same fashion as Steak's. I'm providing Scott with pics soon.

Steak- I can't assist with the scans as you should try the eBay sports cards board about the matter for they have discussed it over before.

Yeah. When I saw the three PWEs and knew I only had one or two PWE trades going on, I was thinking up ways of leaving negative eBay feedback without getting reported for something I didn't do.

Never ceases to amaze me, even with TTM requests. Out of the hundreds I've sent, only three ever came back damaged.

I do notice that as long as it isn't thick, it almost always comes back undamaged.

My experiment is with Topps and their NPN's. They use no protection. Mini envelope in envelope. Only one was slightly bent ever since I started writing off for these. I can't complain. :)

Yes, I've noticed that with no protection cards usually end up fine. It is the machines that do the damage if a card gets stuck.

I used to do a lot of TTMing when it came to collecting autographs and I found that a toploader really isn't necessary. A PWE is just fine when mailing cards. You actually have a better chance of a PWE going through undamaged cause it's just sorted like the rest than you do with a bubble mailer or something because those are manually sorted and tossed around. I've never had a card come back damaged that was sent unprotected so a Toploader is really not necessary in my experience when it omes to mailing a card
