#survivor A to Q - nobody asked but my two cents - Sandra won twice but is not the best player. I'd put Parvati and Rob ahead of her.

Each season they look for a WINNER. Each season a WINNER is chosen. The object of the game is to WIN. People go into the game trying to use their abilities to get them farthest in the game. Just because you like Russell's game play doesn't make it better than anyone else's. RUSSELL has NEVER won. That means there are 20 odd players better than him. They did what they had to do to get the votes and WIN.
Consider this sports analogy. Sometimes the "best" team doesn't win. You know what that makes them? The LOSERS.

The difference is, in Survivor the WINNER is chosen based off of personal feelings opposed to ACTUAL GAME PLAY.
So no, the WINNER isn't automatically the BEST GAME PLAYER from that season.

You just don't get it. Obviously, there is something wrong with Russell's GAME PLAY. If there wasn't, he would have WON. 3 Seasons = 3 losses. I rest my case.

LOL. Alright. There's clearly no explanation as to why America voted Russell the best GAME PLAYER every season, right?
The actual people who determine the $1 million vote on a personal level. Bottom line.
Russell sucked at the social aspect. Everyone understands that. But at the ACTUAL GAMEPLAY IN SURVIVOR, he dominated. The concept shouldn't be that hard to grasp.

There's a reason why Russell won the fans votes and not the actual votes; the people aren't IN CAMP. The producers do not show every second at camp. Maybe Russell was a complete hog back at camp, and they cut it out. Maybe he ransacked everyone's bags, and they cut it out. The votes are actually with him the entire time. We see maybe 15 minutes of a single day.
Coasting is a HUGE strategy. The purpose of the game is to win the votes, correct? By coasting, you can't ™™™™ anyone off. It's almost a path to the million if everything goes well for you. There are downsides, though, such as not having a big alliance.
