Fleer redemptions
I have some info that might be interesting to those of us experiencing anguish over the recent troubles with Fleer and uncertainty regarding redemptions...
I happen to have a previous history with Fleer's current ownership, specifically Martin Grass, son of Alex, brother of Roger. As you might know, Grass is the former CEO of Rite Aid, the huge pharmacy chain. What you may not know, is that Grass was recently sentenced to prison for "cooking the books" at Rite Aid. Seems he decided to lie about company assets, back date documents, and provide lavish cash payments for himself and his cronies. The companies stock price went from about $49 a share to $2 a share immediately after the SEC announced their investigation, thus ruining the lives of over 38,000 employees. Try a search for Grass on any news website and you will see....
On one hand, I am not surprised with the recent Fleer news, but on the other hand I have been a serious collector of Fleer products. Unfortunately for me, I had no idea Grass was in the ownership group at Fleer until recently.
Does anyone have any update on the status of Fleer redemptions? I have several that I previously sent in and I am most concerned about my Brett Favre Fleer Genuine Big Time auto. Any new on this would be greatly appreciated....
I remain duped again.....

thanks for telling, that's why fleer is doing so bad
i hope someone would like to takeover the ownership, but the chance might not be so bright given that the firm accounting balance is far from certain (expect there would have a lot of debt)

I too have several redemption cards pending, which I've officially given up on... 2 of which are 1/1 AUTOS... which is killin me... but the lines are DEAD, and when I did get to talk to someone months ago, "Nothing but sweet talk!". Kinda guessing that the workers took EVERYTHING.... look for Fire sales on Ebay!!! And DO NOT BUY Fleer unless it's DIRT CHEAP! DAMN!

Everyone with redemptions you can kiss them goodbye! They are now property of the agencies trying to fix their books and pay off the bills. All products that had shipping dates forget them too! Sorry guys I really feel your pain! But they are not going to spend any money they don't have too! No redemption has any type of binding agreement on them! They are for promotional purposes. Look at it this way Upper Deck has been pumping their redemptions lightning fast these days. Received one auto in 2 weeks and the 2nd has shipped another 2 week turn around. Again sorry to those of you loyal people who got taken for a ride along with the employees!
