    George Mikan...RIP

He was a forgotten dominant big fella! Have only got to see a few tapes, but he's referred to alot by the Wilt Chamberlin, Russell era

One of the truly old school Lakers. I'm glad the Lakers retired all the Minneapolis Laker jerseys a few years ago, while most of the OGs are still around.

(I didn't know he introduced the 3 point line as ABA commish until today.)

Off topic: He was also a very tough TTM autograph. I got an RTS earlier this year. Look for a slew of fakes on ebay popping up right about now.

Probably one of the most under rated big men that's ever played.

My mom grew up in Minnesota during the '50s and actually got to see many games in person of Mikan. She's told me a lot about him and what a game-changing player he was.

Shaq is paying for his funeral - a very classy move on his part.
