Teams are always looking for new revenue streams. The big revenue stream that no one has mentioned here but that owners consider essential is suites. That's why the LA Kings and Lakers moved out of the Forum. That's why the Dodgers remodeled and added suites. That's why all newer stadiums and arenas have suites. Anaheim's Honda Center (where the Kings would play) has suites. Suites are huge $$. Increasing attendance at Sacramento games will do nothing to satisfy the owner's desire for suites.

D'oh! You're right. I thought I had heard from one of our local sports newscasts that there were no suites at Arco Arena. But now after verifying via the web, I've learned that Arco Arena has 30 suites. I stand corrected.

As a separate issue - why don't the Clippers move to Anaheim??? That just makes way too much sense to me. They'll always be the 2nd team as long as they play on the same floor as the Lakers - and as a side effect it gets rid of a place for the the Kings to move.
