I think they could of gave Christian a better champion run. He was always an after thought
You can add another name to the list of wrestlers released from WWE last week. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Christian was released by the company in addition to 9 other talents.
The contract Christian was released from was reportedly his performer’s contract, and not his Edge and Christian Show deal. WWE hasn’t used Christian in action since his most-recent concussion back in March 2014. Christian was on Chris Jericho’s podcast earlier this month and said that while he’s not “officially retired,” he doesn’t think he’ll ever wrestle again.
Christian made his WWE debut in 1998 as a member of The Brood, and went on to win the Tag-Team Championships multiple times with Edge, Lance Storm, and Chris Jericho. He joined TNA in 2005 and became a World Heavyweight Champion, then returned to WWE in 2009 to become an ECW Champion and two-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
The Brooklyn Brawler, Damien Sandow, King Barrett, Hornswoggle, El Torito, Alex Riley, Zeb Colter, Santino Marella and Cameron were also released last week.

Former WWE Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella was one of the superstars released by WWE last Friday, and for many, it didn’t come as a shock. However, in speaking with Another Wrestling Podcast, the Italian revealed that conversations with the company about potentially using him in a non-wrestling capacity prior to Last Friday meant he was caught off-guard by the news.
Yeah, I guess I was shocked, because there was always talk about when I come back I was gonna take a non-physical role, like maybe there was a little chatter about being a GM and I even suggested perhaps a manager if anybody needed one. But yeah, I guess they changed their mind.Despite the initial shock, he now however feels that his release could be a blessing in disguise and allow him to explore new ventures.
It’s interesting, it’s a strange phenomenon you know. A little bit of “wow, it’s over” and then like “wow, that was awesome” you know “what’s gonna be next” worried and then this sense of kind of freedom and just this weight, because, you know you commit. And you’re a part of the team and you’re… I don’t want to say the own you, but they kind of own you. There’s certain opportunities you’ll have to let go cause you’re with them, so now I don’t have those obstacles any more.

The Brooklyn Brawler was released? WHAT?! I remember when MLB was on strike in the 90s and Vince had him dress up like one of the Baseball Furies (gang from The Warriors movie). His name was Abe "Knuckleball" Schwartz and he'd be in the crowd walking around with a "I'm on strike sign" or something.

He was with them since 81 or so and was a big help back stage and story lines. Yeah he was a paid jobber but still no loyalty.Typical

Neither of these is shocking. Would also not be shocked to see Ziggler, Ryback, and Jack Swagger release/quit/fired/etc

Ziggler (Nick Nemeth) has been with the main roster for the better part of 11 years, first under his birth name, then the Spirit Squad, and has had the Dolph Ziggler gimmick for almost a decade. Signed a new deal last year, so he's sticking around. He's got a movie coming out that he did with Rusev & Kane. Ryback & Swag will probably be gone next.
