Am I the only one...
Who misses the sets without 50 insert subsets? I think it's just crazy how there are so many inserts that people can't keep up with them and can't even name half of them.
Yeah, one or two inserts are fun. But 50?Andrew Bailey Supercollector: 233/263 not including 1/1's (88.6%); 265/466 cards including 1/1's(56.9%)

I'd really like to see Topps "reboot" in 2012. One base set (plain old Topps), one premium set (bring back Stadium Club), one super premium (Finest), one retro set (either the T series or A&G). And ONE Bowman set with the chrome cards as the inserts.
Then limit each master set to no more than three different inserts. Sterling and Triple Threads can be inserts.
But since they're making gobs of money, this will never happen.
Seriously, stuff like "Legendary Lineage" should have just been a subset in the main set. Maybe people would complain about a 900+ card set like Score used to have, but they're already got that many cards anyway, just scattered amongst numerous inserts instead of subsets.

I'd love to see that happen, too.
Yes, a 900 base set is a lot, but IMO, it's better than a 660 base set and a 175 insert set, 6 50-card insert sets, etc.

I have to agree. I like insert sets but I think it could be cut down a bit, especially since they seem to be repeating some of the same ones they put out last year (i.e. Cards Your Mom Threw Out vs. Topps 60 or Legendary Lineage vs. Diamond Duos). They're fun to see when you open packs but it has to be frustrating for master set builders.

I miss larger sets with all the players... most anyway. But at the price of packs... forget it....

I still miss the old inserts from the 90s. They were cool.
