Cal Berkeley has one of the best baseball programs in the country, providing the most 1st round draft picks of any college anywhere in recent years. However, in a way to show that "they can do what they want," Cal has cut the baseball program. Over seven million dollars was raised for this team that costs a couple hundred thousand a year to run, but it was still cut. Reinstation is possible in 2012, but they would have to start from scratch with new players, new coaches and an entire new system. By removing Cal Baseball, the entire Pac-10 Baseball Conference is chopped in half, ruining it until Cal would be able to get back on its feet.

Cal Baseball doesn't produce much revenue, for the simple reason that there are no stadium lights. The money is there, but the Cal administration will not allow it. Funny that they spend three million dollars for their football coach.

I am hoping that you will check out this website and possibly pledge some money. Everyone in baseball would certainly appreciate it.
