Deron Williams to the Nets
Breaking: Deron Williams to Nets deal pending
In a breaking news story, the Utah Jazz and the New Jersey Nets have come to terms in a three team deal that would send Deron Williams to the Nets in exchange for Devin Harris, Derrick Favors, and several draft picks. The deal has Williams landing on the Nets with the Jazz receiving Harris, Favors, and two first round draft picks. Golden State is the third team receiving Troy Murphy by shipping Dan Gadzuric to the Nets. Williams must have burned some bridges in his feud with Jerry Sloan and Harris had overstayed his welcome in New Jersey. Both should still play key roles on their new teams. Favors is the big loser in the deal trapped behind a crowded Jazz front court. Murphy should see his contract bought out while Gadzuric will return to his role as a reserve. Feb 23, 10:59 AM

Nice consolation prize for not getting Melo, so now I think the Knicks are trying to get CP3.

Interesting? I can see Big Al or Andre K getting shipped out. Can't let Favors not play

They gave up 2 first rounders Favors and Harris for Deron Williams. They way over payed for him losing Favors is going to hurt

Ok, so they got Williams...who else is going to go there? They lost their picks/future...don't really see how the Nets will be anything better than marginal.

I'm thinking they think they can either give him an extension, or flip him next year when he's closer to free agency. might be more of an investment than anything else.
I really don't like Harris, and Favors is raw, and won't be good for them until he's close to a new contract, so I don't mind this trade much for them right now.

Most pointless "star" trade I've seen in a while for both teams.

well, utah was very smart in this trade I think.
Instead of waiting until next yr, and see another Melodrama once again with Williams naming teams he want to go, Utah traded D-will this yr.
2 1st rounders (they are not craps, NJ pick this yr, GS pick next yr), Favors and Harris is really good.
For NJ, they better hope they can get someone good via FA offseason or else, D-Will wont sign the extension
Also, why in the heck NJ is so high on B-Lopez?

agree with everything you just said kobe080. D-Will has no one to pass to. Nets were awful, now they're worse despite adding an all star / top 3 pg in the nba
